Hello All,
Our institution is in the middle of testing to implement the CAT tool as well as looking at other options for access. One of those options that are available is the eVA Visitor Access. There seems to be a different CAT Tool for eVA that may complicate getting visitors and other users to the appropriate tool to get them connected easily. I figured out that I can upload the eVA Go Daddy Class 2 Certification Authority certificate and add an extra Authentication Server option “eva.eduroam.ca” and regardless of if I try to connect with a local account, or an eVA visitor username and password, this all works.
I’m wondering why the need/requirement of the separate eVA CAT Tool, if this information could just be imbedded into our own CAT tool? Again we are testing right now so we may not have come across a case where this doesn’t work.
Is there a security consideration or other reason why this isn’t automatically injected into the “per institution” CAT tool?
Thanks,
Trevor M. Doucet
