Hello,

if that license is bound to your university account by name, then it does not matter which Wi-Fi you use to get online.

Probably you mean instead that the license is bound to IP addresses belonging to the university? In that case, you need to get such an IP address. The Wi-Fi's network name does not change anything in that regard. You would need to use a VPN of sorts, as provided by your university, to get into the university network, and to usethe resource.

Instructions for UTHSC's VPN access are on this page: https://uthsc.edu/vpn/

The ability to use the VPN is independent of the network you use for general internet access. IOW, your normal home Wi-Fi will do just fine.

For further help, you will need to ask your local IT helpdesk.

Greetings,

Stefan Winter

Hi, with this lockdown that is happening all around the world, i want to keep working from home and I use eduroam to work on my PhD thesis.
I use a software that the licence is linked to my university account, so I have to login eduroam to work with this software. I would like to know if its possible to use eduroam at my house, by VPN or something like that.
