When attempting to run the W10 installation file (profile is University of Oxford) I get the error below – it’s notifying me that I do not have a wireless card (which is normal given that I work on an office desktop) but it’s in Spanish for some reason.

 

Thanks for this report. I confirm we are indeed having a problem with language handling.

We did not observe this on our dev and test servers, and for a long while there was also no problem like this in production.

A few weeks ago, during semester start, we had to change some operational parameters on the web server to handle the significant incoming load.

With the preliminary tests we did so far, it looks like a change of PHP interpreter towards PHP-FPM causes this.

This was not exhibiting in masses so far because all installers are generated only once and then served from a cache, and the older cached installers were all in the correct language.

Today, a minor patchlevel update of our codebase to version 2.0.3 led to a purge of cache and all installers are now being rebuilt freshly, using said PHP-FPM.

We believe that this is why there is a surge of these language problems from today. We are looking at this with priority, and will try out various options in the coming hours, including turning off PHP-FPM. There might be intermittent short outages on the website while we are changing the config.
