Thanks for reporting this. We very occasionally get reports like this.
Thing is, for the vast majority of deployments of the macOS profiles,
this is not reproducable. As a matter of fact, I have a MacBook Air 2012
myself, running Mojave, and have no issues at non-eduroam networks.
If you can help us investigate this a bit, maybe we can find the reason
for this.
If you go to the Network Preferences, then Advanced, then Proxies: what
do you see? There should be a number of checkboxes, of which only the
first should be set ("Automatische Proxy-Entdeckung").
Can you check the following
- does unchecking this field (and then OK etc.) fix the issues at home?
- if there is any other box checked, which is it, and what are the details?
Don't get me wrong: this first box checked is the expected setting and
works for almost everybody.
The background for this question is that there was a bug regarding the
proxy-auto-config a very long time ago (many years) but it is fixed of
course. But for very old devices, one never quite knows if macOS somehow
"remembers" bits of a previous installation with that bug. Your Mac
could just about be old enough to suffer from that.
Greetings,
Stefan Winter
