This advice is very inadequate in that generality. Every day thousands
of users download installers for iOS devices, and in the incredibly vast
majority of cases they work exactly as intended.

If there is something wrong on your device, then that is very likely
specific to your exact device. It is not possible to diagnose this remotely.
