I am not sure Google Translate got your message across, so I'm guessing
a bit.

The instructions on your institution's web page clearly indicate that
you should install the installers from CAT
(http://udl.cat/ca/wifi/index.html say to go to
https://cat.eduroam.org/?idp=888&profile=3920 ).

Did you do that and it still doesn't work? Then I'm afraid contacting
your IT support really is the thing to do. They are the ones who can
debug your situation; we can't.

Or are you asking why you need a certificate? Your device first has to
identify the server it is connecting to; it should of course only send
your username/password to the authorised server, not anywhere else. And
the typical to verify a server identity is by checking its certificate.

The CAT installers install all the plumbing needed for that, and you
don't usually notice that there is something with certificates going on.
Other eduroam institutions may not verbosely talk about that, but the
same thing is happening there as well.
