The answer varies per operating system and exact circumstances on the
device.
Whenever possible, we strive towards a complete onboarding process that
is self-contained. This worksalways on all Apple installers, Linux and
the Android app.
On Windows, there are a few circumstances which may prevent the final
step (installing user credentials in registry), which then leads to the
user having to enter the credentials interactively on first connection.
This exception happens only in the presence of some AV software which
blocks access to the registry. We warn the users during the installation
when we detect that circumstance.
