Hello,

(apologies for the wide audience cross-post)

we are about to release CAT version 1.1.3, and solicit wide testing of
one feature in particular (but of course feel free to test anything else
as well):

CAT 1.1.3 will (re-)introduce support for the TTLS-PAP protocol on the
Microsoft Windows platforms "Vista" and "7". To do that, we integrate a
new piece of software called GEANTlink, produced by an external
contractor within the GEANT project.

While most of the new features/bugfixes in 1.1.3 are "just PHP" and have
very little potential for problems, GEANTlink is a brand new
implementation of an EAP type for Windows, actual C code, and a
stand-alone piece of software.

We have tested GEANTlink extensively (including with EAPlab to verify
its certificate handling and various obscure error conditions), but
would appreciate wider testing by all interested parties before pushing
this version onto the production instance of CAT.

You can find the release candidate of version 1.1.3 here:

https://cat-test.eduroam.org/RC/

It holds a copy of the current production database, so you can log in
with the same permissions and data as you would on the production instance.

We plan to install 1.1.3 to production early in the morning of 28 Sept
2016, which leaves just short of a week from now on for testing. We do
that with this time planning to make sure TTLS-PAP is available on
typical semester starts for the winter semester (often around or after
01 October).

FYI, the list of changes between 1.1.2 and 1.1.3 is below:

Changes in 1.1.3

- [BUGFIX #1] session was not set (we depended on simpleSAMLphp which
was wrong)
- [BUGFIX #2] inst names with embedded double quotes do not break map
display any more
- [BUGFIX #3] ChromeOS expects the keyword "EAP-TTLS" not just "TTLS"
- [BUGFIX #4] ChromeOS off-by-one in CA string massaging

- [BUGFIX #6] fix regression: loss of support for TTLS-PAP in Windows
Vista and 7
fixed by integration of GEANTlink
- [BUGFIX #7] despite being translated, the message in the big download
button just before getting the installer was showing in
English always
- [BUGFIX #8] fix missing authentication mode setting in Windows wired
