An home institution (in your case Università degli Studi di firenze) can 
be eduroam enabled without using the cat.eduroam.org installer.
This may happen for a number of reasons depending on your university 
network management including not knowing of the existence of cat or 
needing local installers for security/nac reasons, etc...

So I suggest to check with your university staff.

In case they do not know about the existence of CAT, you may tell them 
to contact me.
