Have you installed eduroam using the eduroam CAT installer
(https://cat.eduroam.org)?

It will install the correct certificate for the server checks.

If you *did* use the CAT installer, a bit more information about the
certificate would be useful. Could you e.g. make a screenshot of the
error message, ideally with certificate properties shown?
