hmm, the issue is that if a particular client is fussy (eg 10.8 OSX in this
case) then we need to test/validate that and ensure warnings are correct....
any other OSX release may behave diffently...and whilst a 10.8 user could
upgrade to Yosemite for next to no cost, some people wont or dont.
(so , basically, the only valid test is with a 10.8 client)
