Hi cat-users,

We ran into an issue this week with a Mac OSX 10.7.5 machine and the
cat tool. We have two SSIDs associated with our installer, eduroam
(of course) and another specific to our campus, IAS-Scholar.

On this user's laptop, the IAS-Scholar SSID worked flawlessly. The
eduroam SSID would immediately return with a failure. We saw nothing
on our radius servers, so we are confident that this is an issue on
the laptop itself.

We removed the SSIDs from the laptop, removed the Profile, removed the
certificates from the keychain, and even removed the list of known
SSIDs on the command line. We rebooted, and re-installed the cat
tool, and the same behavior was seen.

I then removed the secondary SSID IAS-Scholar from our profile on the
cat tool so that only eduroam was in the cat tool. We used this cat
installer to only install eduroam, but the same exact behavior was seen.

All the latest patches for 10.7 were applied to this computer. We
read about the possibility of downgrading the wireless card firmward
and then trying again. Obviously, there is the option to upgrade the
OS. We are trying, though, to do as little change to this computer as
possible.

My question is, has anyone else run into this problem? Have you come
up with a fix? I'm worried that we are going to see more laptops in
this situation, and I'd like to have a troubleshooting procedure in
place for it.

Thanks,
Brian
