Hello,

this is to let you know that the eduroam CAT installation on
cat-test.eduroam.org is going to be unavailable for the next hours.

The reason is a joyful one: we're upgrading it to CAT-1.0-beta1 !

There is one important thing to note about the upgrade: all existing
data saved in the alpha version will be dropped. While we tried to
prevent that, the significant changes in handling IdP ownership, the new
federation management, and the introduction of privilege levels for
users, meant that much administrative "meta" info about the created IdPs
was simply not available in the alpha3S data set, and a fresh start for
beta1 was necessary. You've been warned earlier that the installation is
alpha, and that exactly this might happen :-)

Please stay tuned for the announcement of the availability of
CAT-1.0-beta1 on cat-test.eduroam.org later today (possibly tomorrow if
things take more time than expected).

Do note that from then on, the creation of a new IdP in CAT is an action
that can only be triggered by national eduroam administrators. So if you
had an IdP in the alpha version and are not yourself the federation
administrator, then the famous sentence "Please ask your administrator
for assistance!" comes into effect.
