Hello,
I'm happy to announce that the CAT team has stabilised the code base for
the next version 1.1 enough to ship it as a first testing release:
CAT-1.1-alpha1
is now out as a tarball, and we have created a test website instance at
https://cat-test.eduroam.org/alpha/
We're modest in calling it alpha; the code base is so stable that other
vendors would probably have no shame in calling this a beta or RC; and
Microsoft would probably ship it simply as GA software ;-)
The test instance has the same database content of the previous 1.0
testing database, converted to 1.1's new schema. All of your data from
the 1.0 testing instance has been preserved; you can jump right into
testing 1.1 immediately.
You will of course wonder "What's New?" in this release. That's why we
created the Wiki page: "What's New?" :-) :
https://wiki.terena.org/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=38896414
This page lists only the major highlights. If you want to consult the
full list of features and bug fixes which went into 1.1 so far, please
see the Changelog on the CAT forge page:
https://forge.geant.net/forge/display/CAT/Change+Log
Have fun, and please test this thoroughly!
Greetings,
Stefan Winter
